Small Group Ministry

As I complete the Small Group Minister course here at Christian Leaders Institute, I take a moment to reflect how God has been ministering through me and to me specifically in Small Group Ministry. For the past few years, I’ve led a small group that is for those suffering from separation and/or divorce. I am amazed as I watch the Lord rebuild lives right before my eyes. It is interesting to see how God can use our own past failures, weaknesses, and shame to touch others and bring Him glory. He can bring us to a new found place of strength and humility, only to use our own awareness of our failures to show others where the true strength and healing come from through our Lord Jesus Christ. In the small groups, He has given so many opportunities for me to share with others, to laugh, to cry, to encourage, to challenge, to point them toward Jesus and the Word of God. Yes, God uses me in the small groups, but He also continues to challenge me and grow me in my relationship with Him there in the small group. I am blessed to be used by God in a small group ministry.

This small group minister ordination with Christian Leaders Alliance will be the next step for me in my small group ministry as I minister to the brokenhearted in Jesus name. The scripture that I know applies to me and I share with you here is this one: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” (Isaiah 61:1) Praise The Lord!!!
