Chaplaincy – Licensed Chaplain Minister

My name is Elsebeth Renee DeBiase, and I am studying at Christian Leaders Institute for my Chaplaincy training (Learn more about online Bible courses, Click Here). I am a Certified Master Groomer and the owner of a pet salon in Bucksport, Maine. I have been grooming for 20 years. Obviously, I love animals, but over the years, my love and compassion for animals have extended to my human customers. I try to show all my customers that I care through the exemplary services I provide their pets. Pets are such an important part of most people’s lives these days.

A Firm Foundation Needed

It is important to lead by example in business, family matters, and life. I want to be the best Christian I can be. However, for this, I need a stronger foundation. I was not raised in a household with faith or religion. Although my parents grew up in church, they were cynical about church. I did not have a terrible childhood. However, I did not have a good way to deal with the challenges of life such as divorce and the death of friends and family.

Although I maintained A’s and B’s throughout school and college, I struggled with depression and anxiety. I turned to riskier behaviors like drinking and smoking as well as having friends that were not a good influence. After graduating from the University of Maine with a B.S. in Animal Veterinary Sciences, I started my own business which was hugely successful. I was married and divorced within 5 years after college. I found myself alone facing the challenges of homeownership, running a business, and fear of not being able to pay bills, etc.

Foundation in Jesus Christ

To make a long story shorter, I had a customer who for several years talked to me about the Lord and her biblical studies. I always politely listened to her but never really took it to heart. However, one day, I asked her to take me to church. Before, going to church she asked me if I would accept Jesus as my Savior. After praying, I felt immediately free! It was the answer I had been looking for all along!

Not every day is perfect, but now I put my trust in the Lord. I want to share my love of our Lord with others, especially groomers. I am convinced that formal training is necessary to be credible. The Christian Leaders Institute is a great place to fulfill the calling the Lord has placed on my heart to Chaplaincy.

As of 2021, I have formally enrolled in CLI’s Bachelor of Chaplaincy program. CLI has made a lasting impression on me and given me the desire to learn as much as possible about ministry and growing in the Lord. The fact that CLI, CLA, and CLC are free or low-cost means I can take my education to new heights. Additionally, I decided to take CLA’s Licensed Chaplain Minister course. I felt that this course would help me develop practical skills as a minister aided by the credibility of an official credential. I would like to thank everyone at CLI for this opportunity! God Bless!
