Ministry Ordination
Ministry Ordination
My name is Don Timmons and I am receiving my deacon ministry ordination. I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. I have been a married man for 40 years. I have worked as a pastor for two and a half years and an inner city chaplain for four years. Presently, I am seeking new opportunities. I have 2 adult children and 6 grandchildren.
I became a follower of Jesus Christ in my late 20’s as a result of my wife and pastors who invested in my life. I feel that God wants me back in full-time pastoral ministry in the near future. Where I work now, there are opportunities to share Christ with others, so with the training that I will receive from Christian Leaders Institute (CLI), I would like to use it for sharing God’s truth more effectively with those I work with and later with those I come in contact with in pastoral ministry. Getting a scholarship with CLI takes the financial burden off of me and allows me to study without worrying about how to pay for studies on a limited income.
This deacon ministry ordination will assist my ministry in that it will help people to see that I have a call on my life from God to minister and lead people. It will also show that others have recognized that call by confirming it through this ordination class.
Opened doors of ministry opportunities that are currently being placed in my path right now are being part of a core church planting team. We are going into an area where it is a new community with lots of people and little or no church presence. Being involved in church planting is a learning and growing experience that has taught me that God is in control. It is His work. He has allowed me to be a part of it by being used with the gifts He has given to me for His glory, not mine.
This free ministry training at CLI and ordination with Christian Leaders Alliance has helped me to get a better understanding of God’s Word, my calling, and how to minister and care for people. And I have gotten this all without the financial debt of school tuition. Thank you, CLI. You can pray for me that God will continue to lead and direct my steps, and will continue to stretch and grow me in this ministry of church planting.
