Licensed Officiant Training

Faithful in the Small, Thankful for All

My name is Kevin Hall. God has taught me to be faithful in the small and thankful to Him for it all. I am thankful to have found Christian Leaders Institute for licensed wedding officiant training online (Learn more about online Bible classes, Click Here). Also, getting licensed as a Christian Wedding Officiant with Christian Leaders Alliance is a blessing for me.

My Youth

I am the oldest of 2 children, born in Kimberly, South Africa. My parents were divorced (alcohol and abuse) when I was six, and my sister was two. My mom worked several jobs to house, feed, and clothe us. There was never much money, but there was Love.

I came to know Jesus in my early teens and loved working with the youth within the church. At a service one morning, God led me to stand in front during the prayers and was blessed with the prophecy of “a pastoral heart.” I was an assistant youth leader for a couple of years until things went wrong. Although I did not understand at the time, I know now from experience that there was some religious legalism involved. After that, I found solace in sport.
As a young man, I always challenged myself to be a better husband and father than what I had experienced and seen.

Marriage and Family

I met the love of my life at a mutual friend’s house during a social gathering. We connected from day one. We eventually married in November of 1995. Our union met with some resistance from family and friends due to her being previously married and with a five-year-old son named Ryan. We had a son of our own in April of 1997, and with the “abundance” of love in and around us, we named him Jethro.

I worked for a local communication company for 18 years. Then, I decided to seek alternative employment as I wanted to grow. However, there were limited opportunities.

Challenges

In 2008, New Zealand seemed to be an option, with my experience being a big factor. We, as a family, decided to emigrate. Unfortunately, our eldest was unable to find employment and needed to return to South Africa. Nine months after returning, Ryan tragically passed, and our world came crashing down. We spent two years trying to understand why we had to go through the pain of losing a child.

The company then lost the work contract in New Zealand, and we were given an option to continue in Australia. Eventually, the work contract in Australia ended, and we decided to return to South Africa. Therefore, in 2011, we landed back in South Africa with three cases of clothes and very little money.

Life Verse

While in Australia, I searched for understanding and watched many videos looking for answers. In this search, I found my life verse of Joshua 24:15, “And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

We survived several months with zero income by the Grace of God, good friends, and family. Every day, I reminded myself of my life verse while repeating, “Be faithful in the small and give God thanks for everything.”

By God’s grace, I was offered a small job, which eased the pressure. Several months later, I was offered another job that allowed us to move out of our friend’s house and rent our own space. Three years later, by God’s blessing, another opportunity opened up, taking care of a property that included housing. Again, God answered our prayers in the way of permanent employment, allowing me to look after my family.

Faithful in the Small

Ten years after returning to South Africa, I no longer feel that I have failed as a husband and father. Instead, Joshua 24:15 is burned into my heart. Being faithful in the small lights is my fire and passion. Give thanks to God for everything.

We dearly miss our eldest son. But, I’m truly grateful to God for the time we had Ryan with us. We are also blessed to know that he knew Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. We will see each other soon.

As I write this testimony, Barbara and I have known each other for 31 years, married for 26 years. I thank God for this beautiful, strong woman with her strong conviction in God and her quiet correction when I go off track. She is a blessing as a spouse and a mother to our boys.

Finding CLI for Licensed Wedding Officiant Training

Our youngest son is wanting to get married and asked me if I could perform his wedding ceremony. I am truly blessed and honored. This is God’s way of using me through my experiences in life to help others and attempt to lead them.

I did not want to take the quick and easy online application to be registered. So, I started searching for a way to tackle the task at hand. We found Christian Leaders Institute online offering Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant training. So, I promptly enrolled and started my studies. Thank you to CLI and all your partners who have made this opportunity available to grow in the Lord. The studies have highlighted the urgency of bringing God back into society, thereby benefiting all.

Believing in constant improvement and following my heart, my studies at CLI will not end. By God’s will and grace, it is time for me to grow my Pastoral heart and see where I am led. My true passion is to see and assist men to become more God-fearing and husbands and fathers fulfilling their God-given responsibility.

Thank you, Christian Leaders Institute! Be blessed!
