Chaplain Ministry Call

Chaplain Ministry Call

Hello, my name is Kevin Hall. I was born in Kimberley, South Africa. I am answering my Chaplain ministry call by studying at the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about free online Bible courses, Click Here).

My Early Years

The oldest of two children, my parents divorced when I was in primary school. My mother worked several jobs to feed and clothe my sister and me. When I was 12, I was confirmed in a local Presbyterian church. At the age of 14, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Being actively involved in the local youth group, I soon became involved in the leadership of the youth. In a meeting one night, I had a prophecy spoken over me by Charlotte Cronk saying, “You have a Pastoral heart.” However, at the age of 16, I drifted away from the church as I pursued sports.

Challenges and Coming Back to God

At the age of 23, I married a God-fearing woman who was previously married and had a son of five years old. We had a son together, and my family has been an abundance of love and joy. However, after losing our eldest son in 2011, our world seemed to fall apart. So we started searching for answers as to why it happened to our family.

In my search for answers, I eventually turned to the Bible and studied it. It became clear that instead of looking at what we lost, we should look at what we had and the time we had him. Hence, I started thanking God for the time we had our eldest son. I was grateful in the small. At that time, I also came across the following verse that we have used to build our foundation and rebuild our lives.

Joshua 24:15 – And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Finding CLI

In my heart, I have always wanted to serve God. However, I never had a clear direction or mentors. The lack of a father figure was a concern for a long time. But, taking all my worries to God, my heavenly Father, has allowed me to push on. Not having money to study has always been a pressing issue, especially when the kids wanted to study further.

When I came across the Christian Leaders Institute and the free education offered, I decided to commit to God, getting right with God. I know that is where I want to be. However, having the responsibility of a family to clothe and feed, full-time ministry seemed unlikely. Yet coming across the Chaplaincy training at CLI has been an answer to my prayers. Now, I can study and take that knowledge back into the workplace. Being able to bring the presence of God into my workplace will have a phenomenal impact on the business and the staff’s morale.

Licensed Chaplain Minister Course

Studying the Licensed Chaplain Minister course has given me a solid foundation. With my Chaplain minister license, I will serve at my place of work and in my local community. I genuinely have the knowledge to help people as they go through their moments of crisis. The Chaplaincy course has also helped me become more aware of God while increasing my desire to spend more time with God.

Answering my Chaplain ministry call from God, I will be continuing my studies at CLI. God willing, I plan to complete the Chaplain Minister course. The training offered by Christian Leaders Institute and the Vision Partners has indeed opened doors for me and many others who have the same spiritual dreams. Thank you, CLI!
