Connecticut Ordination – ARLINE PETTWAY

Connecticut Ordination

My name is Arlene Pettway, (Arline, legally – long story). I am 49 years old. I was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where I still reside with my husband, (Richard) and 2 children, (Amanda and Jordan), 21 and 19 years of age, respectively. My 19-year-old was diagnosed with autism at 3 years old. Raising him has been one of our many challenges, along with rearing children in urban Bridgeport.

Bridgeport is a city riddled with crime and poverty but is such a great mission field for revival leaders. I am a member of the leadership team and serve on the board, at Transforming Lives Church Inc., in Bridgeport.

I was raised in a low-income housing project in Bridgeport. It was in this rough environment, that Christ was first revealed to me. A pastor from NYC had a vision to plant churches in the toughest neighborhoods. His first plant was in P.T. Barnum Apartments in Bridgeport, where I lived. At 11 years old I heard the gospel for the first time and responded to an altar call. The Lord changed my heart. I became a committed member of that church, in spite of the fact, that my mother was not a believer. The pastor emphasized door-to-door evangelism, and at an early age, I learned how to witness effectively to people, of all ages.

At the age of 18, I experienced a great falling away from our church’s Assistant Pastor, (the man who ran the church while the senior pastor, was in NYC). I was disheartened and confused, and I blamed God. I walked away from him, determined to do my own thing. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” Proverbs 14:12. I plunged into depression and thoughts of suicide.

After 4 years of living my own way, the Lord sent a persistent laborer into my life, who constantly reminded me of his love and acceptance. He was wooing me back. I rejected his relentless pursuit initially, but through a series of difficult circumstances, I ran back to him at the age of 22. It felt so good to be home!

The fires of evangelism burn in my soul; there is nothing greater than to see a life transformed by the power of God! I have felt called, since my first encounter with Christ at 11, to share the good news with everyone I meet. The Lord has given me dreams of souls coming to him, through my witness and declaration of his glorious gospel. I know God has called me to be an end-time revival Evangelist, for the advancement of his kingdom.

The calling has been confirmed through the enemy’s resistance, in this area. I feel especially led to encouraging parents who have children with special needs. In Bridgeport, the harvest is ripe, but the laborers are few. I would love to be able to take “full advantage” of a scholarship with CLI, to be more equipped, and to equip others, to reach these souls in the harvest.

I was ordained into the ministry as an Evangelist on May 27, 2018. Along with the leadership of Transforming Lives Church, our ministry objective is to reach 500 souls in 5 years, (8 souls a month), for the glory of God. I am the ministry leader of Evangelism and Outreach and would like to be fully prepared to move the church, to this end. I can’t wait to move forward with this amazing educational endeavor.
