Ordained Ministry Calling
My name is Janice Pearson, and I have an ordained ministry calling on my life. I am the first born of four siblings; there are two girls and two boys. I grew up in a God-fearing environment at home. My mother and I attended church often together. I didn’t realize my calling to minister the word of God due to life’s disruptions and turbulence.
The rollercoaster of ups and downs occupied the majority of my young life. At the age of 21, my humbling and surrender occurred one Sunday morning during church. I attended church with my sister Stephanie. She made a quick decision to thrust me out into the aisle of the church when the Pastor stated the altar call. The Pastor invited people forward to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. I felt embarrassed and wondered why she would do something like this. I felt tricked. But let me tell you, that was the best trick I ever experienced. It became real for me, and I thank Jesus!
Presently, I am 58 and have encountered through my life the sweet love of Jesus Christ. I have experienced circumstances that I know only God resolved. God kept me under his umbrella of love and protection, even when I didn’t deserve it. I promised God that I would serve Him, and I desire to inspire others who share the same hope. My ordained ministry calling is to be an ordained minister for the Lord.

Christian Leaders Institute has given me the opportunity to learn and grow in the Lord. I have grown in my knowledge of God. Therefore, I know God and have a more concrete and personal relationship with Him than ever before. I have matured in regards to conducting myself appropriately. I’ve learned to think before I speak, and how to be mindful of others via the People Smart for Ministry class. Professor and Pastor Henry Reyenga, Dr. Bruce Ballast, Dr. Ron Carter, Rev. Steve Elzinga, and Bishop Brian DeCook, to name a few, have opened the doors of opportunity for me. However, not just for me, but for all who desire to excel in their calling. These free courses give me the foundation I need to prepare me for ministry. I gained so much wisdom with the understanding that I can accomplish my ordained ministry calling journey.
