Wedding Officiant Ministry

Hello, I am Kathy Smith from Mocksville, North Carolina. God has led me to become a licensed Christian wedding officiant through the courses at Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about studying the Bible online, Click Here).  I look forward to a wedding officiant ministry.

My Story

Let me tell you a little about myself. I went to church as a child. My parents divorced when I was five. After that, my family did not go to church, so I went with the neighbor for a few years. Then, I moved and did not go for a couple of years. There was a church across the street that I occasionally went to. It was there that Jesus saved me.

After being saved, I think I had more questions than answers. So, I fell away from the church for many years. It seemed there was no one that could answer my many questions. I never felt like I fit in at church. I still believed in Jesus and that He was my Savior but was not educated as to what exactly that meant.

Marriage

I was never one of those girls that dreamed of a wedding. It was not something I ever wanted. I was under the impression it was a piece of paper that allowed someone to have power over me. You could say I was a major skeptic.

Well let me tell you, I am living proof that our God works in mysterious ways. Because I later met my now husband. Let me rephrase that: I was sent the man God intended for me to spend the rest of my life with. After our second day together, he expressed that when he married, he wanted his family to attend church. While dating, we attended the church he and his family attended for many years. Sadly, I just felt those judging me and again me not fitting in no matter how hard I tried. After my two children were born, we continued to try several other churches, and again I never felt at home.

After a few years, my husband wanted to try a new church. So, I told him to go and try it out. He said that he thought I would like it, and he was right. Now, I finally see what it is supposed to look like and feel like to love the Lord. The people restored my view. Through my church and God’s children, I decided it was time to answer my many questions. I realized that my issues were mine and not others judging me. My issues were me not opening up to the idea of something better or something that I had no control over.

Ministry Classes Online at CLI: Wedding Officiant Ministry

I started reading the Bible, studying God’s Word, and volunteering within the church in any way possible. I finally belonged. Then, I wanted more. My husband and I both started taking ministry classes online at the Christian Leaders Institute. Thanks to CLI, I grow more knowledgeable every day. Every day, I am restored. My relationship with the Father grows daily, and my desire to minister to others grows as well.

My God sent my husband to me to help me see more clearly. I want to share with others the love I feel for God and my husband and help others start a loving life together. I am not sure where the Lord is leading me. But for now, it is to share the wonderful gifts and experiences I have had in a wedding officiant ministry. So, I am eager to be a licensed Christian wedding officiant with the Christian Leaders Alliance.

God has restored my soul and made me see the good that surrounds me instead of the bad.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. LOVE NEVER FAILS.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
