Deacon Minister Ordination Course

My name is Joan Kembo, and I am in the deacon minister ordination course at CLI. I am the only daughter of Richard and Stella and I have 2 brothers. I live in Harare, Zimbabwe. I run a Graphic & Website Design Studio and a Christian Gift & Bookshop. I grew up going to church and gave my life to Christ at the age of 15, I have not looked back ever since. It has been quite a journey with the Lord as I have learned a lot about leadership through experiences and interaction with other people.

This training at Christian Leaders Institute will help me become more effective as a leader and mentor. Currently, I am leading the Worship Team at our local church. I am passionate about working with young people in rural areas where there is a deep hunger for the things of God and commitment. I want to see people walking with God and developing a deep relationship with Him, knowing the Word of God for themselves, and moving in the power of God. “For the Kingdom of God is not in Word, but in the demonstration of power” 1 Corinthians 4:20

God called me into ministry in 2006 and I have always wanted to enroll in a Bible School. Christian Leaders Institute is a great opportunity for me to achieve that and enhance and sharpen my focus, which is to do what God called me for and fulfill all that I am supposed to do. The Deacon Minister Ordination course is very helpful in that I have had people who know me and have studied my life confirm God’s calling over my life. They have also mentioned qualities that I would not ordinarily see. My deacon minister ordination with Christian Leaders Alliance will be a blessing to my ministry work.

Currently, I am the Deputy Treasurer of the National Baptist Convention Youth Ministry and we get to plan the annual camp and other events. This gives me an opportunity to interact with the youth all over the country and minister to them in various ways. I also get opportunities to preach the Word at our local church as well as get invitations from other ministry friends. My work in ministry has been an exciting journey, it has taught me to be patient with people and understand that God loves everyone regardless of who they are and I should minister with that understanding. I have also learned to depend on God as I minister because He knows the needs of each and every person more than I do.

This free ministry training and deacon minister ordination course have been formative in my ministry future in that I have grasped the fundamentals of ministering the sacraments and I will, in turn, help others to understand. It has also taught me what is required of a servant minister, which God desires us to be. My prayer request would be that I may continue to depend on God and never to complacent in my walk with Him.
