Steps to Become an Ordained Minister
At CLA, the ordination journey is built on the Seven C’s of Christian Ordination, a biblically inspired process to prepare leaders with integrity, training, and spiritual maturity.
1. Calling: Embrace Your Purpose
Recognize your unique calling to ministry. Reflect on how God has shaped your journey and equipped you to serve.
2. Competence: Build Your Foundation
Take free, high-quality ministry training through Christian Leaders Institute. Begin with foundational courses like the Wedding Officiant Skills course and advance from there.
3. Confirmation: Seek Endorsement
Gain affirmation of your calling from your local community, pastor, mentor, or fellow believers. This endorsement is part of the ordination process.
4. Credibility: Establish Trust
Complete the required coursework and be listed in the Christian Leaders Alliance Minister Directory—a powerful testimony of your readiness.
5. Compliance: Legal and Public Recognition
You’ll receive official documentation such as a Letter of Good Standing and Clergy ID Card, ensuring your recognition by legal entities and religious institutions.
6. Commissioning: Put Ministry into Practice
Officiate weddings, lead services, counsel others, and live out your calling through real-life ministry experiences.
7. Confidence: Lead with Boldness
With strong training, support, and spiritual growth, you’ll develop the confidence to lead as a faithful and impactful servant of Christ.
