The Urgent Need for Youth Pastors Today
The role of a Youth Pastor has never been more critical. In today’s world, young people face overwhelming challenges—peer pressure, social media influences, identity struggles, and a growing disconnection from faith. Many are searching for purpose, guidance, and truth, yet churches often struggle to provide dedicated spiritual leadership for youth.
This growing need highlights the urgent demand for trained Youth Pastors—leaders who can disciple, mentor, and guide the next generation in their faith journey. However, not every church can afford a full-time Youth Pastor. That’s where the Youth Ministry Officiant Program becomes a game-changer, providing a practical and affordable pathwayfor volunteers and part-time leaders to step into youth ministry effectively.
Why We Need More Youth Pastors
1. The Decline in Youth Church Involvement
Many studies show that young people are drifting away from church. According to research, a significant percentage of young adults leave their faith after high school. The presence of a strong, engaged Youth Pastor can bridge this gapby providing relevant biblical teaching, fostering discipleship, and building a faith community that keeps young people connected.
2. The Influence of Secular Culture
Teenagers and young adults are bombarded daily by secular worldviews, moral relativism, and anti-Christian narratives. Without solid discipleship, many struggle to defend their faith or find biblical guidance for their personal struggles. A Youth Pastor equips young people to stand firm in their faith and apply biblical truth to real-life situations.
3. Mental Health and Emotional Challenges
Anxiety, depression, and identity struggles are on the rise among young people. Many feel isolated and lack meaningful mentorship. A Youth Pastor provides emotional and spiritual support, helping them navigate life’s difficulties with prayer, biblical wisdom, and a Christ-centered perspective.
4. The Need for Positive Role Models
Teens and young adults need godly role models who can walk alongside them and demonstrate what it means to follow Christ. A Youth Pastor isn’t just a preacher—they are mentors, encouragers, and life coaches who inspire young people to pursue a deeper relationship with God.

Youth Pastor Testimony
Hello! My name is Breigh, and I am a 34-year-old proud mother from Ohio. I am blessed to raise three incredible young adults: Gabriel, my 18-year-old son; Jaycee, my 13-year-old daughter; and Kolten, my 11-year-old son.
Navigating the challenges of single motherhood has been a journey, but my faith in Jesus Christ has been my foundation. Every day, I strive to share His transformative love with those around me. My mission is to lead others back to God, guiding them on their spiritual journeys while openly sharing how He has profoundly shaped my life and family.
A Testament of Faith
To understand my passion for ministry, it’s important to know the story behind it—a journey of struggle, redemption, and God’s unwavering love.
I grew up in a difficult environment filled with instability and trauma. My parents battled addiction, making my childhood chaotic and unpredictable. My sister and I often felt abandoned and unloved, and the wounds from those early years manifested in destructive ways. I faced abuse and struggled to process my emotions in a healthy way.
Even in those darkest moments, the words of Psalm 34:18 resonated deeply with me:
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Despite this promise, I struggled for years to believe that God truly loved me. I felt as though I needed to “fix” myself before I could come to Him. But in my lowest moments, I realized the truth—God had been with me all along, even in the midst of my pain, addiction, and brokenness.
I battled addiction for years and experienced the heartbreak of losing custody of my children. I felt hopeless, but I clung to the promise of Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
In my desperation, I cried out to God—and He answered. He gave me a second chance, rescuing me from despair. Through this experience, I discovered the power of forgiveness—not just as something I extended to others, but as a gift meant for my own healing and freedom.
The words of 1 John 1:9 became a source of strength:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Through my journey, I’ve come to know God’s unshakable love. He has never given up on me, and His presence has renewed my strength, even in the most chaotic seasons of my life.
Pursuing Education and Training
To equip myself for ministry, I have completed a Pastoral Care course through Christian Leaders Institute (CLI). I am currently pursuing additional training in substance abuse intervention and crisis counseling to better serve those in need.
Beyond my ministry training, I also hold certifications in project management and procurement management and am engaged in leadership training through the Great Learning app. Through these studies, I have learned that faith and education go hand in hand. The more we equip ourselves, the better we can serve others.
My goal is to use my education and experiences to share God’s love, helping people grow in their faith and lead transformed lives.
Spiritual Aspirations
My spiritual dream is to become a youth pastor and young adults, as well as a pastoral crisis intervention counselor and substance abuse counselor. Eventually, I hope to serve as a missionary and church planter, creating spaces where people can find healing, guidance, and community.
One of my long-term goals is to establish a second-hand store where proceeds would fund ministry initiatives such as:
✅ A free sober house for those recovering from addiction
✅ A homeless shelter to provide refuge and support
✅ A community center offering counseling, education, and job-seeking assistance
To further my outreach, I manage a Facebook group called “All Things Good For God’s Agenda.” This group serves as a resource hub where I share daily devotionals and connect individuals with recovery, counseling, and educational resources. My public Facebook page extends this mission, creating a supportive community built on faith and encouragement.
The Call to Ministry
I have felt God’s call to ministry since childhood. My aunt often reminded me that God had a great plan for my life, and as I’ve grown, that calling has only deepened.
I have always had a heart for helping others, and through my own struggles, I’ve realized that my past pains were not in vain. Every hardship has shaped me into the woman I am today. I firmly believe in Romans 8:28—that God works all things for good for those who love Him.
It is my hope that by sharing my testimony, others will be encouraged to see that no one is ever too far gone for God’s grace.
Jesus extends this invitation in Matthew 11:28:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
One of my favorite scriptures that has carried me through the hardest times is Isaiah 40:31:
“But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint.”
I trust that God will continue to use my life, my story, and my struggles to glorify Him. I am excited to see how He leads me forward and how I can help others find their way back to Him.
A Message of Hope
This is not just my journey—it is a shared journey of healing, redemption, and faith.
No matter what you’ve been through, God’s love never runs out. He is ready to provide for you, protect you, strengthen you, and lead you.
There are thousands of promises in the Bible declaring what God has for us:
💙 He promises to love us unconditionally
🙏 He promises to never forsake us
🌿 He promises to forgive us and cleanse us
💪 He promises to renew our strength
🔥 He promises to give us courage and a solid foundation
If you are struggling, I encourage you to seek Him with your whole heart. You are never too far gone for His grace. No matter your past, God has a future for you!
Thank you for taking the time to hear my story. I pray that it offers hope and encouragement to all who read it.
Let us walk together toward the light and love of Jesus Christ! 🌟
