Youth Minister Trained as a Wedding and Romance Officiant
Becoming a wedding and romance officiant is a vital part of my ministry as a youth pastor. I believe it will help me guide the next generation in developing meaningful relationships and God-honoring marriages. I am pursuing the Romance Officiant credential because I want to help couples grow in their relationships through faith and discover God’s purpose for love and marriage.
My spiritual journey has deeply shaped my calling. I once walked away from the faith and denied God. But through His grace and perfect plan, He brought me back. Experiencing His goodness in every part of my life has ignited a passion in me to help young people see how good God is—and how much He desires a personal relationship with each of them. Sadly, that message wasn’t clearly taught to me growing up, and it contributed to my earlier fall away from faith. I want to break that cycle and bring clarity to the next generation.
When I started this program, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But as I went through it, I was amazed at how valuable and impactful it was. It helped me grow personally, especially in how I love and serve my wife. It has inspired me to continue learning and pursue even more training through Christian Leaders Institute.
Every CLI course I’ve taken has been deeply informative and spiritually enriching. These programs have helped me grow in my relationship with God and develop a clearer understanding of who He is and who He calls us to be.
Youth Ministry Studies at Christian Leaders Institute
My calling into ministry was never accidental—it was the result of an intentional pursuit of God’s presence and purpose for my life.
As I felt Him continually drawing me closer, I began to take full ownership of my faith journey. I enrolled in classes at Christian Leaders Institute (CLI), seeking to equip myself for the work God had placed before me. My heart burns with a deep passion for the Gospel, and I find great joy in sharing the love of Jesus with others.
It fills me with purpose to uplift and encourage people as they embrace their identity in Christ—
to remind them they are seen, heard, and deeply loved by God, whether they are walking through valleys or standing on mountaintops.
As my faith matured, I intentionally surrounded myself with people who lived with vision and purpose.
They began to see something in me that I hadn’t yet recognized—an ability to minister, to speak life into broken places, and to help others discover Jesus in the middle of their own stories. Many encouraged me to consider becoming a life coach, but I initially resisted. I believed my own story was too messy. But God had other plans.
Through motherhood, ministry, and years of personal growth, I came to see the truth:
My journey—flaws, wounds, and all—was not a disqualification but a source of wisdom and credibility. God had been shaping me all along to guide others with grace and compassion.
The loss of my grandmother became a defining turning point.
It deepened my understanding of grief, forgiveness, and the urgency of sharing the hope we have in Christ. That season reminded me of how short life is, and how important it is to live intentionally—knowing each moment can be used to impact someone’s eternity.
As I continued my education at CLI, something unexpected happened:
I realized I had completed all the requirements for the Life Coach Ministry certification. I looked up and laughed, saying, “God, You are so funny. Thank You!” What once felt unlikely had become a reality through His guidance.
Today, I continue my studies in Youth Ministry, Discipleship, and Theology—
further preparing myself for the ministry God has called me to. I am deeply grateful for the training and support I’ve received through CLI, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.

Singles Ministry Volunteer in a Local Church
As a volunteer youth pastor in a small-town local church, I’ve discovered that this role is both a tremendous privilege and a humbling challenge.
When I first accepted the position, I assumed it would be easy to connect with the youth and help them grow in their faith. But I quickly realized that passion alone isn’t enough—it takes wisdom, patience, and intentional effort to truly make an impact.
I stepped into this calling because I saw a real need.
Many youth in my community were struggling to find their place in the church, and their parents were seeking guidance in nurturing their children’s faith. I felt called to be a bridge—between the youth and the parents, and between the youth and the larger church family. I believed that with the right support and tools, we could build a stronger, more loving, Christ-centered community.
But the road hasn’t been easy.
I’ve faced many challenges—disengaged youth, skeptical parents, and moments where it felt like no one was truly listening. There were days I felt like I was talking to a brick wall. I wrestled with discouragement and wondered how to reach the next generation with the love and truth of God in a way that actually connects.
In my frustration, I turned to prayer—and God answered.
He led me to the Youth Ministry Skills course at Christian Leaders Institute. As a volunteer youth pastor with no salary, I could never have afforded such high-quality training without it being offered for free. This program has truly been a game-changer for me.
The course gave me exactly what I needed.
I learned how to create engaging Bible studies, how to relate to young people in a meaningful way, and how to communicate God’s love clearly and effectively. Professor Steve Elzinga’s teaching was encouraging, practical, and full of wisdom from his own ministry experience.
Now, I feel equipped and energized to serve with new confidence.
I’m eager to put these strategies into action, to reconnect with the youth in my church, and to walk alongside families as they grow together in Christ. I’m praying that God will use me in fresh ways to bring about real, lasting change in our community.
To everyone who helped make this course possible—thank you.
Your investment in youth ministry is bearing fruit. You’re helping pastors like me grow, stay the course, and faithfully serve the next generation. I’m honored to be part of this movement, and I’m excited to see how God will continue to use CLI to empower leaders around the world.
Thank you again for this incredible opportunity. The journey is just beginning—and I can’t wait to see what God has in store.
