Here’s a quick step-by-step guide:
Complete the Wedding Getting Started class in under 30 minutes. It will introduce you to the CLI learning system and how CLI and CLA work together.
This 1-credit class walks you through the full role of a Christian wedding officiant—from first meeting to ceremony day. Expect to spend 5–10 hours on this course.
Complete the Wedding Officiant Recognition Class and receive a character recommendation from someone who knows you. This confirms your readiness and integrity as a Christian leader.
Once completed, you are licensed to officiate weddings with Christian Leaders Alliance.

“Hello and blessings! My name is Dr. Sharon Hooks, and I am so glad to be a part of the Christian Leaders Alliance. I was born in Umatilla, Florida, and I now live in Belleview with my husband, Keaston. We’ve been married for 15 years—this is a second marriage for both of us—and we’re blessed with six children and two beautiful granddaughters.”
With a strong Pentecostal background rooted in the Church of God in Christ, Sharon grew up surrounded by ministry. Her great uncle and aunt were her pastors, and her mother raised her to walk in the fear of the Lord.
“I have always had a heart for people and a desire to teach Jesus. I’m a certified Pre-K to 3rd grade teacher, but my real goal is to minister. Last year, I completed my Doctorate in Theology, and now I’m equipping myself further with credentials that show I’ve studied to be approved.”
