Shannon Ordained Minister

Minister Story Spotlight: Shannon Cox’s Journey to Ordination

Shannon Cox’s life in her small rural town in Indiana is filled with love, purpose, and faith. Married to her high school sweetheart and homeschooling two energetic boys, Shannon spends her days gardening, horseback riding, and caring for farm animals. Yet behind her peaceful lifestyle lies a passionate calling to serve God as an ordained minister.

Having experienced deep personal healing from childhood trauma, Shannon felt God place a burden on her heart to help others find hope through Jesus Christ. She began volunteering as a spiritual coach in an online ministry, sharing the gospel with people in need. However, she sensed that her ministry would only flourish if it were supported by formal education and ordination.

“I thank God I found Christian Leaders Institute through a Google search,” Shannon shares. “I wanted to be ready and equipped to truly help others in their darkest moments.”

Shannon began studying at CLI and set her sights on dual ordination as both a Chaplain and Minister of the Word through the Christian Leaders Alliance. Her experience with CLI has transformed her—not only academically but spiritually. The courses have deepened her prayer life, strengthened her understanding of Scripture, and given her confidence to pursue full-time ministry.

“I feel more confident in my future calling to serve as a full-time Christian Leader,” Shannon says. “This program is building me into the leader God is calling me to be.”

As she works toward her Bachelor of Divinity degree, Shannon looks forward to leading worship, offering pastoral care, and ministering in her community. For Shannon, becoming an ordained minister is not just a credential—it’s a powerful step toward living out God’s calling.

If you feel a similar tug in your spirit to serve, CLI and CLA are here to walk with you on your journey. Just like Shannon, you can begin your training today and take the next step toward a future in ministry.
