Marriage is a sacred covenant, and officiating a wedding is a significant spiritual responsibility. As an ordained officiant, you’ll have the privilege of guiding couples as they commit to each other and to God in holy matrimony.
The CLA Ordained Wedding Officiant Program ensures you meet the legal requirements to officiate weddings in your area. After completing the program, you’ll be listed in the Christian Leaders Alliance Clergy Directory, recognized by local governments.
Whether you’re a pastor, ministry leader, or Christian wedding coordinator, adding wedding officiating to your ministry skill set opens new doors for serving others and sharing the gospel.
This study-based program is offered online and locally endorsed through a partnership between the Christian Leaders Institute and the Christian Leaders Alliance. The Ordained Wedding Officiant Program allows you to study at your own pace, making it flexible and convenient. It is scholarship-supported and free, making it accessible to anyone feeling called to this ministry.
Once you complete the required coursework, obtain one endorsement, and complete your profile, your ordination will be officially recognized through the Christian Leaders Alliance.
When Timothy Bunch stumbled upon Christian Leaders Institute through a simple Google search, he had no idea the lasting impact it would have on his walk with God and ministry calling. “It is a blessing that God allowed me to stumble onto CLI with a Google search,” Timothy said. “I am grateful to be a part of CLI.”
Timothy was raised in a loving Christian home and gave his life to Christ as a child. Encouraged by the faith of his parents and teachers, he continued to serve the church in many roles—from the sound room to Sunday school, men’s ministry, and more.
His journey took him through military service in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Gulf War, followed by a career in law enforcement. In 1995, Timothy married his childhood school friend, Aimee, after a whirlwind reconnection. The couple has since raised six children and remained active in their local church, Grace Community.
Upon retiring from his police work, Timothy launched a construction business and began seeking God’s guidance for a new ministry opportunity. That’s when a friend asked him to officiate a wedding. The request sparked something deep in Timothy’s spirit.
“I could have used one of any hundreds of online mills,” he said, “but I’m so grateful I chose Christian Leaders Alliance. The information and guidance is a true blessing.”
Through the Ordained Wedding Officiant Program, Timothy found not only the credentials to legally officiate weddings, but also the spiritual foundation and confidence to serve with Christ at the center. “I thank God for the Christian Leaders Institute!
