Falling More Deeply in Love with Jesus

My journey began when a well-meaning Christian brother challenged something I believed. Although I thought his understanding was misguided, God knew that the challenge was exactly what I needed to move forward in my faith.

Beginning around Christmas and continuing until shortly after New Year’s Day, I sat down and read the entire New Testament. My original goal was to prove him wrong.

Instead, I encountered an amazing love letter. I discovered a powerful story filled with truth and details I had never fully understood. I could hardly believe how much was contained within those pages.

What began as an effort to win an argument became an experience that drew me into a much deeper love for Jesus Christ.

A Childhood Faith Becomes Personal

I had considered myself a Christian from a very young age. I accepted Jesus at a children’s club when I was approximately six years old.

Although I had attempted to read the Bible many times, I had never completed it in its entirety. My faith was present, but I had not yet developed the consistent relationship with Scripture that would later transform my life.

Reading the New Testament awakened a new hunger within me. I no longer wanted only a familiar or inherited understanding of Christianity. I wanted to know God more deeply for myself.

Becoming Hooked on the Bible

The challenge from my Christian brother got me hooked on reading the Bible. After completing the New Testament, I continued into the Old Testament during that same year.

Since then, I have read the entire Bible repeatedly. Each time I return to Scripture, I learn more about the character of God, His faithfulness, and His plans for His people.

As my knowledge of Scripture grew, so did my love for the Lord. The Bible was no longer simply a book I believed was important. It became a source of truth, direction, correction, hope, and spiritual life.

Wanting to Talk About God

Loving the Lord this deeply created a powerful desire within me. I developed a need, almost as strong as breathing, to talk about Him and share what I was learning.

I wanted to communicate biblical truth responsibly and become better prepared to encourage others. I knew enthusiasm alone was not enough. I needed greater knowledge, practical skills, and a stronger foundation for serving people.

While searching for a way to grow, I discovered Christian Leaders Institute and began taking courses.

The training gave me an opportunity to improve my understanding of Scripture and develop skills that could support my calling.

Learning More About Myself

As I progressed through my courses, I began learning a great deal about myself.

I had experienced emotional wounds during childhood and in later seasons of life. Those experiences affected my confidence and made it difficult for me to believe in my own abilities.

Even when I earned strong grades and received encouraging comments from other people, I struggled to accept that I was capable.

External evidence was not enough to overcome the messages that had become rooted within me. I needed to hear and believe what the Lord was saying about my identity.

It took time for me to recognize that I was worthy of being loved, capable of growing, and able to fulfill what God was calling me to do through the strength of Christ.

Discovering Confidence Through Christ

God began changing how I viewed myself. He helped me understand that confidence does not have to come from pride, comparison, or the approval of other people.

Healthy confidence can grow from trusting God, recognizing the gifts He provides, and accepting the responsibility to use those gifts faithfully.

My past wounds did not have to determine my future. The words spoken over me by others did not possess greater authority than the truth God revealed through Scripture.

As I continued studying, I learned to set goals, complete challenging work, and recognize the progress God was helping me make.

A Desire to Help Young People

I have always had a strong desire to help others, especially young people, recognize who they are.

I want them to understand that God loves them and that He can guide their path when they choose to seek Him.

Many young people struggle with identity, confidence, direction, and purpose. They may be shaped by painful words, difficult relationships, disappointment, social pressure, or the fear that they are not good enough.

Because I understand what it is like to struggle with confidence, I want to help others identify the harmful beliefs that hold them back and replace those beliefs with truth.

Believing Everyone Has a Calling

I believe the Lord calls every one of us. He gives people skills, talents, personalities, experiences, and opportunities that can become part of their purpose.

These gifts are not accidental. God knows us before we are born and understands how every part of our lives can be used for His glory.

Our responsibility is to seek Him, ask Him to reveal our calling, and faithfully follow the path He places before us.

That process may require patience, prayer, education, healing, and the willingness to take one step at a time.

Discovering Christian Coaching

Christian coaching offered a meaningful way to bring these parts of my calling together.

It created an opportunity to pursue my own personal development while learning how to help others seek and discover a more abundant and purposeful life.

Coaching is not about telling people exactly what to do or attempting to control their decisions. It involves listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, helping people clarify their goals, and encouraging them as they pursue faithful next steps.

Christian coaching also recognizes that lasting growth is connected to our relationship with God. Goals, decisions, habits, relationships, and purpose can all be considered within the light of biblical truth.

Growing Through Coaching Training

Receiving Christian coaching training through Christian Leaders Institute and recognition through the Christian Leaders Alliance was exciting for me.

The skills I learned helped me strengthen my own goal-setting process. Instead of viewing long-term goals as impossible, I became better able to identify manageable steps and continue making progress.

Coaching skills helped me think more intentionally about accountability, priorities, obstacles, and the actions required to move from an idea toward a completed goal.

Those lessons strengthened both my personal development and my ability to support others.

Continuing My College Education

The goal-setting skills I developed supported my progress toward an associate degree and helped me continue working toward a bachelor’s degree.

Pursuing higher education while caring for a family requires persistence, organization, and the willingness to continue even when progress feels slow.

My studies showed me that meaningful growth is often accomplished through consistent, faithful actions rather than one dramatic moment.

Each completed course became another reminder that God was helping me move beyond the doubts I once carried about my abilities.

Applying Coaching Within My Family

The benefits of my Christian coaching education extended beyond my personal academic goals.

I began applying what I learned within our home church and in the education of my children.

Coaching skills helped me listen more carefully, ask better questions, and encourage growth without immediately attempting to provide every answer.

These principles supported more thoughtful conversations about faith, learning, goals, responsibility, and personal development.

They also reminded me that each person has unique gifts, challenges, and ways of processing decisions.

Using Coaching in My Business

My training also expanded into my business. The ability to establish clear goals, identify obstacles, and create practical action steps became valuable in both ministry and professional settings.

Christian coaching principles encouraged me to consider not only what I wanted to accomplish but also why those goals mattered and how they aligned with my faith and values.

This helped me approach business decisions with greater clarity, responsibility, and purpose.

Encouraging Others Through Writing

I also began a blog called Beautiful Remade to document my journey and encourage others as they pursue growth in their own lives.

Writing provides another way for me to process what God is teaching me, share lessons from my experiences, and remind others that restoration and purposeful growth are possible.

My story is still unfolding. I do not write as someone who has completed every part of the journey, but as someone who continues to learn, heal, and follow Christ.

Grateful for Accessible Training

Christian Leaders Institute was and continues to be an enormous blessing to me.

Its online learning format allowed me to remain at home with my family while taking courses and preparing for ministry.

When I began, our young family could not have afforded a traditional college education. Without CLI’s donation-supported model, I would not have been able to start these classes.

Accessible training opened a door that financial circumstances might otherwise have kept closed.

That opportunity strengthened my biblical knowledge, supported my personal growth, and gave me tools I can use to encourage my family, church, business community, and others God places in my path.

Continuing to Grow in Christ

I look forward to continuing to learn and grow through Christ.

Spiritual formation, education, and ministry preparation are ongoing journeys. There will always be more to learn, new areas in which to grow, and additional opportunities to serve.

I want to remain teachable and willing to follow wherever the Lord leads.

My goal is not simply to earn academic or ministry recognition. I want my education to shape my character, strengthen my faith, and make me more effective in helping others.

Helping Others Become Who God Created Them to Be

I want to be an agent of the Lord who helps others seek Him, find Him, and become all that He created them to be.

I especially hope to encourage people who struggle with low confidence, painful histories, uncertainty, or a lack of direction.

God can use Scripture, prayer, supportive relationships, education, and faithful coaching conversations to help people recognize new possibilities.

I know this because He used those things to bring growth and confidence into my own life.

Moving Forward with Gratitude

I am grateful for the challenge that first motivated me to read the New Testament. God used an unexpected conversation to awaken a deeper hunger for His Word.

I am grateful for the ways He has healed my confidence, strengthened my abilities, and helped me continue pursuing my educational goals.

I am also grateful for Christian Leaders Institute, the students who study there, the supporters who make the training possible, and all the people who will be touched through their ministries.

May the Lord continue to bless Christian Leaders Institute, its students, and everyone they serve throughout their journeys.
