Desperate for a New Life

At 30 years old, I had no formal education beyond the tenth grade. I was a high school dropout with a GED, a convicted felon, a drug addict, and an alcoholic.

I was living a very dark life. I felt desperate, deeply sad, and unable to change my circumstances through my own strength.

In that darkness, I prayed to God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I cried and pleaded for help. It was a sincere and heartfelt prayer from someone who knew he needed to be rescued.

God responded to the cry of my heart. He heard my prayer, met me in my desperation, and began leading me into an entirely new life.

Beginning My Walk with the Lord

That prayer marked the beginning of my journey with the Lord. My walk with Him has included many twists, turns, lessons, and opportunities for repentance.

I learned much about God, about myself, and about the consequences of the choices I had made. I repented of my old way of life and was baptized as an adult.

Over time, I began to understand more clearly what Jesus meant when He spoke about the narrow path. I now seek to remain on that path and faithfully follow the calling God has placed upon my life.

My past no longer has the final word over my future. God has shown me that He can redeem broken circumstances, restore lost purpose, and use our stories to reach people who may feel that hope is no longer possible.

Called to Help Others Find the Lord

It is my dream to use the gifts God has given me to help others find the Lord. I know what it feels like to live without direction and to believe that life may never change.

I also know what it means to experience the mercy of God and to discover that He is able to create a new beginning.

My desire is to meet people with compassion, listen to their stories, and encourage them to see that their present circumstances do not have to determine the rest of their lives.

I praise God for the miracles I have experienced, the blessings He has granted, and the opportunities He has given me to spread the gospel and glorify His name.

Returning to School at Age 30

I grew up outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At 30 years old, I made the decision to return to school.

Despite having left high school after the tenth grade, I successfully earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University over the next several years.

After completing that degree, I continued my education and earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology from West Chester University.

Education became part of God’s restoration in my life. The person who once believed he had very limited opportunities was now being prepared to serve others professionally and make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Serving in Behavioral Health

I began my career as a counselor and soon became the chief executive officer of a behavioral health organization.

The organization included a Christian counseling company and a drug and alcohol counseling company. We offered a variety of mental and behavioral health services to people facing serious challenges.

Our services included mental health intensive outpatient programs, drug and alcohol intensive outpatient programs, and a residential eating disorder program, among other forms of care.

The organization eventually operated in 35 locations across several states. Through that work, I saw the importance of professional support, compassionate care, accountability, and hope.

My own experiences with addiction and brokenness gave me a personal understanding of how difficult change can be. My education and career then helped me develop the skills necessary to serve people facing complex emotional, behavioral, and spiritual struggles.

Leaving My Career to Raise My Son

About ten years ago, I left my behavioral health career to raise my son full-time.

That decision began a new season in my life. Although it meant stepping away from a significant professional role, it gave me the opportunity to invest deeply in my relationship with my son.

We have been greatly blessed by the time we have shared. Parenting became another way God shaped my character, priorities, and understanding of faithful service.

The season reminded me that calling is not limited to professional success or public ministry. God also works through the daily faithfulness of caring for our families and being present for the people He has entrusted to us.

Building a Christ-Centered Marriage

A few years ago, I met my wife. She is a beautiful Christian woman, both inside and out.

We are building our relationship upon the covenant we have made with Christ. Our shared faith gives us a foundation for marriage, family, decision-making, and ministry.

She has been my partner in the decision to pursue additional training through Christian Leaders Institute and Christian Leaders College.

The flexible and accessible educational opportunities have been a strong fit for our lives. They have allowed me to continue growing spiritually and academically while remaining faithful to my family and ministry responsibilities.

Continuing My Ministry Education

I am now pursuing a Bachelor of Divinity through Christian Leaders College. This education is helping me deepen my knowledge of Scripture, theology, ministry leadership, and Christian service.

I have already experienced how education can transform a person’s opportunities and strengthen a calling. Ministry education is now helping me connect my academic background, counseling experience, and testimony of redemption with the work God is placing before me.

I want to continue learning so that I can serve with biblical wisdom, humility, and accountability. My desire is not merely to gain credentials, but to become increasingly prepared for every opportunity God provides.

Prepared for Christian Coaching Ministry

Receiving Life Coach Minister recognition through the Christian Leaders Alliance gives me meaningful preparation for volunteer ministry service at my church.

Christian coaching ministry provides a way to walk alongside people, listen carefully, ask meaningful questions, and encourage faithful growth.

My counseling background has taught me the importance of compassion, trust, ethical boundaries, and thoughtful communication. My ministry training adds a biblical foundation that helps me serve people within the context of Christian faith and discipleship.

This recognition represents another door opened by God. It allows me to bring together my personal testimony, professional experience, ministry education, and desire to help others grow in Christ.

Using My Story for God’s Kingdom

When I look back at the person I was at age 30, I see someone who was desperate, addicted, ashamed, and uncertain whether life could ever become different.

When I look at what God has done since then, I see grace, restoration, education, family, meaningful work, and a renewed calling.

God has taken the parts of my story that once seemed hopeless and used them to prepare me to understand and encourage others.

I know that transformation is possible because I have experienced it. I know that education can open new doors because it changed the direction of my life. Most importantly, I know that Jesus Christ offers forgiveness, hope, and a future to people who sincerely call upon Him.

I look forward to serving in my church and using this Christian coaching ministry preparation to help others recognize God’s work in their lives, pursue faithful next steps, and discover the hope found in Christ.
