Colten Marbry didn’t start searching for “free online ordination” because he wanted something fast. He started because, as he puts it, he feels called to serve people “in some of the most sacred, tender, and vulnerable moments of life.”
That’s why he began pursuing the Funeral Officiant credential through Christian Leaders Alliance while also working toward becoming an Ordained Minister. Colten doesn’t see funerals as mere ceremonies. “Funerals are holy moments of ministry,” he says—moments where grief is real, hearts are open, and the gospel carries weight.
What surprised him most was this: the training is free, but it’s not casual. “This training has strengthened my understanding of the responsibility carried by ministers,” Colten explains. It gave him practical and pastoral readiness—how to stand with families, honor the deceased, and speak hope with humility. “It allows me to serve with both compassion and confidence,” he says, “while honoring God, the deceased, and the grieving family.”
For Colten, legitimacy isn’t proven by a price tag. It’s proven by preparation, integrity, and outcomes. And he’s grateful to have found a pathway that removes financial barriers without removing responsibility—so that when people need Jesus most, he can offer “truth, peace, and love” with credibility and care.

Answer: No. Ordination through Christian Leaders Alliance is free, including listing in the CLA Directory. Credential packages are optional and have low fees.
If ordination is free, how does Christian Leaders Alliance continue its work?
Answer: CLA is supported through optional credential purchases, donations from supporters, and partnership with Christian Leaders Institute. Purchases help fund directory verification, ordination systems, and global ministry infrastructure. But again—you do not pay to be ordained.
