How to Receive Your Licensed Minister Credential: A Pathway for Called Christian Leaders

Have you felt the call to ministry but aren’t sure how to take the next step? The Licensed Minister credential offers a powerful opportunity for Christian leaders who are ready to serve in an official capacity—whether part-time, bi-vocational, or in a specialized area of church leadership.

At Christian Leaders Institute and Christian Leaders Alliance, we recognize that ministry is not one-size-fits-all. Some are called to full-time pulpit ministry. That’s why the Licensed Minister ordination program is designed to be flexible, affordable, and deeply rooted in both ministry sciences and biblical training.

What Is a Licensed Minister?

A Licensed Minister is someone who has received formal training and is publicly recognized as a clergy member. This role is ideal for those stepping into leadership in their local church, leading small groups, officiating life events, or serving in outreach settings.

With this credential, you’ll be equipped and authorized to:

  • Officiate weddings, baptisms, and funerals

  • Serve the Lord’s Supper and witness professions of faith

  • Offer confession and forgiveness prayers

  • Visit hospitals or care facilities in a clergy role

  • Lead as a Master of Ceremonies for Christian events

It’s more than a title—it’s a recognition of your call and preparation.

The Role of Ministry Sciences

In today’s world, ministry requires more than passion. It calls for understanding. That’s where ministry sciences come in—a term that reflects the study and application of biblical leadership, theology, pastoral care, and practical service. Our Licensed Minister program integrates these elements to prepare you for real-world ministry.

From understanding the spiritual dynamics of counseling to handling the sacred responsibilities of officiating ceremonies, your training is designed to form both your heart and your hands for service.

📖 Student Spotlight: How the Licensed Minister Credential Is Empowering Ministry in Ghana

For Alexander Uriel Duodu, a passionate Christian leader from Ghana, the Licensed Minister credential through Christian Leaders Institute and the Christian Leaders Alliance is more than a title—it’s a catalyst for deeper ministry effectiveness and a symbol of transformation.

From a Religious Childhood to a Life Redeemed by Christ

Alexander was born in Kumasi, Ghana, the first of four children in a Christian household. But like many, his early church experiences were shallow. He recalls attending church but living a double life influenced by ungodly friendships.

“Growing up, I did not see anything wrong with being worldly and going to church at the same time,” Alexander shared. “I thought it wasLicensed Ministry Credential normal.”

Behind the scenes, a deeper struggle was brewing. Introduced to pornography at a young age, Alexander became trapped in a destructive addiction.

“I became addicted at just eight years old. The images haunted my mind, and even though I tried to stop many times, I kept going back.”

In 2011, everything changed. Alexander encountered the grace of God and surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. That same year, he was baptized and began building a daily walk with God. His passion for the Bible ignited during a long university break, where he read from Genesis to Revelation for the first time.

“That moment was life-changing. I began hearing from God through the Scriptures.”

A Call to Ministry and the Pursuit of Training

While attending the University of Ghana, Alexander surrounded himself with spiritual mentors who helped him cultivate spiritual disciplines. His ministry journey accelerated through leadership roles, such as Evangelism Secretary and President of the University Christian Fellowship.

In 2013, he received a clear calling to ministry through a vision from the Lord.

“Wining souls brings me the greatest joy. My desire is to know God and be faithful to Him forever.”

Alexander pursued formal training at Anagkazo Bible Ministry & Training Centre, graduating in 2019 with a diploma in ministry. He went on to earn two bachelor’s degrees through Christian Leaders College and completed a Master of Arts in Theology at Lucent University in 2023.

Today, he serves as the school chaplain at Glorious Morning Star International School and pastors a church he planted, Cathedral of Glory.

The Impact of the Licensed Minister Credential

Although already ordained as a pastor and deeply trained, Alexander sought something more: official recognition that reflected his commitment to spiritual leadership and his connection to a global network of Christian leaders.

That’s when he turned to the Licensed Minister credential through Christian Leaders Alliance.

“Having the Licensed Minister credential will help me be more established in the work of ministry,” Alexander said. “I want to gain in-depth knowledge from well-seasoned ministers who have lived exemplary lives.”

He highlights the value of the free courses offered through CLI and the powerful impact they’ve had on his personal and professional growth.

“This training is a great gem for my spiritual upbringing. I know many sacrifices have been made to make it free, and I want to become a Vision Partner to help others access it.”

A Testimony of Redemption and a Ministry of Healing

Alexander does not shy away from his past. Instead, he uses it to reach others—particularly youth—struggling with the same issues he overcame.

“Now that I am free from pornography, I use my story to encourage others. I tell them that Jesus is the deliverer of all addictions.”

He sees his ministry as a tool for transformation, not just for individuals but for entire communities.

“I meet many young people who are into pornography. I share my story, and God uses it. Instead of picturing wrong images, now I meditate on the Word of God.”

One course in particular, Restoration Relationships – Transforming Justice, has given him the tools to counsel those with broken relationships and addictions.

“This course has given me wisdom to help others who’ve been hurt or are hurting others. It’s one of the best things I’ve studied.”

Rooted in Christ, Ready for More

With credentials from Christian Leaders Alliance—including Chaplain Minister and Minister of the Word, alongside his pursuit of the Licensed Minister credential—Alexander is firmly rooted and ready to multiply his impact.

“Pray for me to be more rooted in Christ so I can raise up more spiritual giants among the youth in my community and generation.”
