The program consists of five classifications. Once you fulfill the core requirements for each program, you can pursue specialization courses that enhance your chosen classification.

Diakonos Roles – Five Primary Ministry Roles

Wedding Officiant:

  • This Wedding Officiant role is designed for individuals who are called or interested in officiating weddings.
  • The goal is to receive training and credentials for wedding officiation.
  • It is ideal for Christians who are asked to officiate weddings for loved ones or have a calling to officiate weddings and other occasions.
  • This program can be completed in 5-10 hours.
  • Upon completion, you will be part of the Christian Leaders Alliance and will need one endorsement.

Wedding Officiant Course Requirements

Wedding Officiant Recognition

  • Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant Recognition Class (0 Credits)

Field Minister:

  • The Field Minister role is for those who serve as volunteer ministers in a local church or in other areas of God’s Kingdom, often as local deacons or elders.
  • The role can be specialized with various options.
  • It can be completed in approximately one to two months of consistent part-time study.
  • You will need one endorsement for this program.

Field Minister Course Requirement

  • Min 100 – Christian Leaders Connections (3 Credits)
  • Theo 101 – Introduction to Christian Doctrine (3 Credits)
  • Christian Wedding Officiant Skills (1 Credit)

Licensed Coaching Minister:

  • The Coaching Minister role is for individuals called to help people discern and develop goals to overcome obstacles and honor God in their lives.
  • Coaching ministers learn core coaching practices and essential ministry skills.
  • They may serve in a local church, coaching practice, or ministry business.
  • The role can be completed in two to four months of consistent part-time study.
  • You will need one endorsement for this program.

Licensed Minister:

  • The Licensed Minister role provides ministerial training to be recognized as a licensed minister.

  • The course of study covers a range of essential ministry skills needed by a minister.
  • It is suitable for those desiring to serve as volunteer ministers in their community or at a church.
  • The core requirements can be completed in two to four months of consistent part-time study.
  • Two endorsements are required for this program.

Step Two – Complete the Getting Started Course. This course takes less than one hour and launches you into your minister program.
