Become a Romance Minister

Love is Sacred. So is the One Who Honors It.
In a world where marriage is often overlooked or undervalued, a new kind of minister is rising—one who champions godly romance, officiates with purpose, and walks with couples toward covenant. This is more than paperwork. It’s ministry rooted in love, truth, and lasting promise. 💒✨

Have you ever felt a tug on your heart to guide others in building strong, godly relationships?

Maybe you see the confusion around dating today and wish someone would help people find love that lasts—love rooted in Christ. If that sounds like you, maybe God is calling you to become a Romance Minister.

✝️ Why This Ministry Matters More Than Ever

Many young people today are struggling when it comes to romance. Relationships are often shallow, short-term, and shaped by dating apps and social media. “Swipe right” culture has replaced real connection.

But God has a better plan.

The Bible teaches us about love, commitment, and marriage. Young people need help learning how to build relationships that are healthy, holy, and joyful. That’s where you come in.

The Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA), in partnership with the Christian Leaders Institute (CLI), makes it easy and free to start your journey as a Romance Officiant. Here’s how to get started:

A Ministry Grown Through Romance and calling 💕

❤️ A Calling I Didn’t Expect

For years, I had a passion for healthy relationships, godly romance, and celebrating love the way God designed it. I found myself helping friends through breakups, talking couples through conflict, and always being the one who cried tears of joy at weddings.

I didn’t feel called to preach or plant a church—but I knew I wanted to serve couples. I wanted to officiate weddings with meaning, offer biblical guidance to those preparing for marriage, and celebrate love as a sacred gift from God.

That’s when I discovered I could become a Romance Minister—formally trained, spiritually grounded, and legally recognized to serve in this vital area of ministry.

📘 Training with Christian Leaders Institute

My first step was enrolling at Christian Leaders Institute (CLI), an educational ministry offering free, online, correspondence-style biblical courses. I started with their Wedding Officiant Skills class—and I was hooked.

Here’s what I learned:

✅ The biblical foundation for marriage

✅ How to lead wedding ceremonies with confidence

✅ How to support couples emotionally and spiritually

✅ Communication and premarital coaching skills

✅ What it means to be a minister of romance—not just legally, but spiritually

CLI helped me understand that romance is sacred, and helping couples prepare for a lifetime of love is a real ministry.

🏅 Ordination with Christian Leaders Alliance

Training is powerful—but recognition matters too. That’s where the Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA) came in. CLA offers study-based ordination programs that give Romance Ministers credibility and public trust.

I completed the required classes, submitted my recommendations, and became ordained as a Wedding Officiant and Romance Minister—at no cost for the training.

Now, I’m legally able to officiate weddings in my state, and more importantly, I’m spiritually equipped to walk alongside couples as they prepare for one of life’s most meaningful covenants.

💡 Why Romance Ministry Matters

Romance ministry is not fluff—it’s formational. Marriage is under attack in today’s culture. Many couples are confused, unprepared, or discouraged. They need guides, not just legal officiants.

As a Romance Minister, I:

💍 Celebrate weddings that honor God

💬 Provide premarital coaching rooted in Scripture

💒 Support couples in crisis or growth

📖 Share the gospel through the lens of love, covenant, and intimacy

Ready to say “yes” to this calling?

“Let your spring be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe and a graceful deer—let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love.”

Reflection: This verse encourages delight and ongoing romantic joy within marriage—a celebration of passion and companionship.

Proverbs 5:18-19

“Many waters can’t quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man gave all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned.”

Reflection: True love is priceless and powerful—it endures trials and cannot be bought or extinguished.

Song of Solomon 8:7

“Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Reflection: This is the gold standard of love—selfless, enduring, and rooted in truth. It applies to all relationships but is foundational for lasting romance.
