Moving from Knowing About Jesus to Knowing Him Personally
Bill knew about Jesus, but he describes a point in his life when faith became much more personal. Accepting God’s grace changed the direction of his relationship with Christ.
“I knew who Jesus was. But I never had a personal relationship with Him. That changed when I accepted God’s grace and gave my life to Him.”
Trusting God in a Difficult Season
A Family Crisis That Deepened His Faith
Bill’s relationship with God grew during a critical pregnancy in his family. Faced with uncertainty, he turned to prayer and entrusted the future of his child to God.
“Lord, if you let us have this baby, I promise to return him as an angel to you.”
His son, Conner, was born healthy. Bill describes that experience as part of the spiritual journey that continued strengthening his faith and trust in God.
Opportunities to Minister
Learning Not to Say No to God’s Calling
Over time, ministry opportunities began appearing in Bill’s life. He was first asked to read Scripture in church and later received an invitation to officiate a funeral.
His first reaction was hesitation. But Bill remembers sensing that God was asking him to accept the responsibility.
“At first, I said no. But then I heard God say, ‘Yes, you will. You will use this to glorify My name.’”
A Meaningful Family Moment
Asked to Officiate His Daughter’s Wedding
Another important ministry opportunity came when Bill’s daughter asked him to officiate her wedding. He saw the invitation as another part of the calling God had been developing in his life.
“I was to officiate her wedding to bring Him glory and ensure their marriage was blessed.”
Preparing for Wedding Ministry
Pursuing Wedding Officiant Training
Bill turned to Christian Leaders Institute for training as he prepared to serve in wedding ministry. The opportunity gave him a structured way to grow in knowledge while responding to the ministry opportunities already appearing in his life.
“I am studying to become a Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant.”
“Who knows where God will lead me next!”

Bill’s story reflects a ministry calling that developed through prayer, family experiences, unexpected opportunities to serve, and a willingness to respond when God opened another door.
