To raise up revival leaders!

Ministry Journey

Madelein Janse Van Vuuren is from South Africa, she is a mother of two and now works in fulltime ministry.

One day Madelein found herself in church after years of not attending. As she walked into a church Madelein began to weep. She did not understand what was happening to her. She sat at the back of the church so that she would not be noticed. The pastor then spoke about a word that he had for someone. He then called Madelein to the front. This was her first time in the church and didn’t know anyone there. She was shocked that God knew who she was. The same day Madeline gave her life to Christ.

Madelein has a call to plant churches, help solve issues in ministry, community development and a prophetic calling. Madeline’s greatest desire is to help other believers to their calling.

Raise up revival leaders through mentoring and launching them into ministry. To reach SA with the gospel.

Ministry Journey

Type of Minister: Thinus: Commissioned Minister
Maretha: Women's Minister

Ministry Dream: Raise up revival leaders through mentoring and launching them into ministry. To reach SA and Africa with the gospel.

Ministry Journey:
Thinus and Maretha (Retha) Pretorius are married and are partners in Ministry, in Pretoria, South Africa.

In 1974, at the age of 16, Thinus gave his heart to Christ, was called by God to full-time ministry, but due to various factors, he never went to Seminary.

Thinus and Retha got married in 1981 and were involved in youth ministry and later in various "positions" in church life.

In 2000, Thinus had a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit that changed his life and took him out of his comfort zone. The sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit forced him to ask the big questions and quickened his calling and passion for ministry.

The encounter began a process of purifying and confirmation, both in Thinus and Retha. Thinus began ministering to others. He was soon joined by Retha, who accepted her calling after a period of responding, " No,... ministry is not for me...!"

They ministered for years with some informal training. (Retha attended an informal Bible School for 4 years). Their formal training through Christian Leaders Institute began for Thinus in 2014 and for Retha in 2015. They have many advanced diplomas through Christian Leaders Institute. Thinus is ordained as a commissioned minister and Retha as a women's minister. They are senior pastors of Christian Leaders Community Church in Pretoria.

They encourage other CLI students by hosting regular meetings for mentoring purposes as well as assisting them in ministry needs such as formally registering their ministries and facilitating practical ministry training sessions. They also assist new students enrolling at CLI and facilitate Ordination services for CLI students.

Matthew Caffell

Ministry Dream

To Mentor and guide fellow students in the UK

Ministry Journey

My name is Matthew Caffell, a leader in a transport outreach in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

My Christian walk has been anything but straightforward, in fact it has been one of ebbs and flows.

I started my walk at about eight years of age. My parents had split when I was very young. After their break up, my Dad recommitted to The Faith, and God lead him to become an Elder of a local Evangelical church. He continued in ministry in one way or another till his going to Glory in 2018.

My Mum on the other hand was not a Christian, and did almost everything she could to dissuade me from following in my father's footsteps; This caused rather a mixed upbringing, and was very hard for me to know what was right.

Thankfully God himself started to show himself to me, in the way that only He can. I remember praying true heartfelt prayers from a young age, even asking God to be my Lord and Jesus to be my Saviour, as I understood it then.

I had a varied childhood, often being the greatest advert for the Enemy, interspersed with times where I did what I was able, to be right and walking with the Lord.

I was baptised in the fountains in Trafalgar Square, London, England on Friday 13th February 1998, which was part of a great leap forward in my spiritual walk.

Whilst my walk did not run smooth, I spent a long time away from church, I never really gave up my faith.

There is more to say, but that would lengthen the way past the necessary.
What I will say is that on 28th December 2003 I was turned on to God fully, and that is the date that I count as the start of my ministry journey.

I received supernatural healing for a severe spinal injury. That day the pastor of that church invited me to become his apprentice.

I spent nine months in training with Rev Dr William Isaacs-Sodeye who is a powerful minister of the Gospel. My time with him was of great value to my walk of faith.

Over the following years I have developed a deeper relationship with God and Jesus.

God has brought the most wonderful woman to be by my side and join me in the walk of faith.

We now have two awesome daughters together.

My career has been in the transport sector, mainly as a HGV and PSV driver. God has used this experience through a ministry for truck drivers in the UK, which I have been blessed with the position of Senior Ministry lead.

This is the ministry that I have predominantly joined to help CLI further. Firstly, deepening my relationship with The Lord and all that I learn in this process, secondly, I would then be able to pass this knowledge on to those who I minister to in Jesus' name.

To preach, teach and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ministry Journey

Matthew Leonard is married to a wonderful woman named Lisa. They live in Newcomerstown, Ohio; where they moved to raise their son.  Donovan is Lisa’s biological grandson, who they both adopted after getting married in 2005.  Donovan was homeschooled to ensure a proper Christian education and to put focus on studies on a one-on-one basis.

Read more about him in his own words:

"I have been active for several years with my local church here in Newcomerstown, after being Sunday school teacher, Youth Director and Youth Minister, and eventually, the Sunday school Superintendent. I now help maintain the church’s Facebook page as a ministry outreach, as I have been called to minister elsewhere.

I hold a Council level Minister's License with Churches of Christ in Christian Union. The church headquarters with CCCU and Ohio Christian University have reviewed copies of my student transcript and certificates with CLI, and they fully recognize and accept the classes I have taken, and the credit hours I have earned. I have the option of also going through their Ordination Program, with my credit hours also being accepted. I am also licensed through the State of Ohio.

For the past 5 years, I have been working for Journey’s End Ministries, which is a ministry outreach food pantry organization, and as Pastor with Wolf-Salem Church also in Newcomerstown.

The training and education I have received with CLI has prepared me for the responsibility of teaching and preaching the Word, and to help guide those in the church who seek the divine outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and to help make disciples, as we have been instructed to do by the words of Jesus."

Matthew became ordained a Commissioned Minister with CLA in 2015.

Rasing up revival leaders!

Ministry Journey

Maurice started CLI in 2013 and since then has completed 99 credit hours with a diploma of divinity

PERSONAL TESTIMONY.

I was born in a polygamous family of a father and mother who was all from Roman Catholic background, forty-nine years ago.

After the death of my mother, I and my Elder brother moved from our home to the aunt’s place who was a widow but was a committed Christian who had given her life to Christ as Lord and savior of her life.

She tried to introduce us to Christianity but wasn’t that committed.

As I got into my teens, I started experiencing a deeper urge and desire for sex, alcoholism, and smoking. I felt like I was being left out by not living like the rest of my other friends were doing and this created in me a sense of withdrawal and separation what almost led to rejection. Later on, I found myself moving from one woman to another seeking to find satisfaction, rest and peace but with no success.

The urge for sex grew in me stronger day by day to the extent that it even affected the results of my secondary school grades. I didn’t get the grades to qualify for the university. This left me injured at heart

The more I practiced this lifestyle, the more restless I became, this went on to the extent that keeping faithfulness to only one woman

became a problem.

December 1990 is the year I saw the light. It was one evening after struggling the whole day with anxiety, restlessness and a sense of emptiness when I decided to walk out of the house to a nearby shopping center, a place where one local pastor had organized an open-air bible meeting.

As I listened to the message by the visiting preacher, I kept growing in conviction, as he went on it dawned on me that he was speaking to me. I could not wait for the invitation to receive Christ, just walked in front and asked the pastor to pray for me to receive Jesus Christ as my personal savior.

Receiving Christ as my lord and savior was and has been a decision one in a lifetime that I cannot regret ever making in my life. I got peace, rest and satisfaction in life. He blessed me three years later with a beautiful God fearing wife, Winnie, and later four children who continue to be a blessing to my life.

Three years later, I got a call to be more involved in the ministry, and by his grace was able to help with his servant in various ministry capacities; ranging from interpretation, eldership and as a deacon

serving with pastors in a medium sized congregation here in Nairobi.

Five years later the Lord called me into full-time ministry in which he led me to found a ministry; Christian restoration ministries of Mt. Calvary, where we train and raise leaders as well as church planting, a mandate we still undertake to date.
